How do I play it?

The Cerberus™ is just like any other electric guitar, and it’s tuned the same way. The chords and scales are the same as well, so most players pick it right up and play. The difference is that you choose the triplets of strings that best match your playing style. Each 3-string group is paired with a matching saddle that is designed to ensure perfect intonation for those strings. If you want to change your strings, you swap out the strings and install the matching saddle.

Our factory installed tuning uses the A, D & G strings of a regular guitar. This tuning is versatile and fun to play! Each tuning has its own unique feel and benefits. It can be easily tuned to Open Tunings, so major chords may be played with a single finger. The Cerberus™ is easier to play than a standard guitar and with the ¾ scale, even small hands can make chords with a single finger using open tunings.

Chord Shapes

The standard tuning for a Cerberus™ is the A, D & G strings from a standard 6 string guitar. You can imagine the E on the low end and B & E on the high end - that’s helpful for some people. Below are the major and minor chord shapes for all the primary chords. White circles just above the nut indicate the string is played open. Black circles indicate fretted notes, with the number indicating which finger is used, e.g., 1 for your index finger, 2 for your middle finger and 3 for your ring finger. A wide oval shape indicates barring across multiples strings with the finger indicated.
